Intégrale de l’œuvre pour piano de Thomas Adès
Thomas Adès, compositeur britannique bien connu et aussi pianiste concertiste a composé huit œuvres pour piano. Ces œuvres, écrites entre 1992 et 2011, ont été ici enregistrées par Winston Choi et c’est une grande première car si certaines de ces œuvres avaient déjà été enregistrées par Thomas Adès c’est la première fois que l’intégralité de l’œuvre pour piano de ce compositeur de premier plan est proposée en disque.
Adès se réinvente complètement avec chaque œuvre pour piano, en explorant différentes techniques de composition, des modes d'expression, des préoccupations stylistiques et l'utilisation de l'instrument. Une voix unique et singulière.
L’interprète Winston Choi, pianiste canadien basé à Chicago, a été vainqueur en 2002 du Concours International d’Orléans, est un grand défenseur des œuvres du répertoire contemporain.
